“Hi, we are Taste De To Un Poco. We have a variety of food options on our menu. We have Tacos, Ceviche, Agua Chiles. Tortas, Quesadillas, Burritos, Asada fries, Menudo, Posole, Champorrado, & Tamales. In 2023, my mother passed away from cancer and um you I know, she’s cancer free now and she’s she I mean, she’s not can well, she’s pain free. That’s what I meant to say. So she’s in heaven, she’s pain free and uh we came across, like we we were taking care of her and we didn’t know what to do, so, uh, we were looking through Facebook one day and we were on the couch hanging out and we didn’t know what to do, so we started our food truck business.
That’s how this started. We both love to cook. She’s from – Go ahead. I’m from Jocotepec. And I was born and raised in California and that’s how we came up with our name. If you notice, half of it is in English and half is Spanish. We had no idea what we were doing. This is how this came up. So, um, guys, just, you know, stay positive and uh if you guys ever think about getting into something, uh, go ask questions.
So, first of all, I wanna say we are vet a veteran owned business. um I’m a veteran. That’s what this logo is. Our logo was done by uh Jose.
Hoser out in Oxnard. Uh, he did both of our loos and Firefly did the rap for us. I like to put the logo onto the to the food truck because I want to show all the veterans that are all on the road. You know, you see a lot of homeless nowadays and most of them are veterans. um maybe maybe it was PTSD, maybe it’s depression that got them down. But hopefully them seeing the truck pass by, it gives them some kind of motivation to to get back on the right road, you know, to success. And, hopefully you guys are hearing this, you know? I want you guys to try to overcome that depression. I mean, I have a lot of anxiety, depression and a lot of things, um, but I’m trying to overcome that.
We were very excited about picking it up.Just to tell you, I had no clue what we were doing. I didn’t even know how to hook it up. But he was there and my brother in law was there. to help us. um that was very exciting. It’s too exciting, We’re super excited. And like for me, I think is like to see people eating our food and seeing that they enjoy our food. That makes me and I think that makes us proud of what we’re doing and is pushing us to do more and it’s not easy, but we know we can do it.
Yeah! There’s a lot of things that cities, the cities require, that we didn’t know, um, but honestly, I mean, Justin, he answered a lot of our questions, and he warned us, this is not gonna be easy. It’s not gonna be easy! He still warns us to this day. We talk a lot on the phone and, he just encourages us to not give up. But If you know, I guess what I’m trying to say is, this is not an easy job if, you know, if you guys are looking into thinking that, you know, you’re gonna have a lot of time on your hands, It’s an all day thing. You’re up in the morning, you’re you’re prepping and you’re cooking and then you’re getting ready for an event, and after the event, you still gotta go and clean everything and and prep again for another event. So it’s an ongoing thing, so just make sure you know what you guys are getting into and that’s what I like about Justin. He didn’t lie to us. He told us everything, 100%. He says, it’s not gonna be easy, guys. If you guys are ready for this, then go for it. If you’re not, don’t go for it. So I appreciate that.
You know, ceviche is a hip for us. California is normally, I mean, the weather is always nice. It’s not very often that it’s bad weather, so um I mean, look, we barely even got any. rain this year, so ceviches always a good thing. Chow down, we got second place. second place, Ceviche Chow down, 2024. We’re going for it again, 2025, August, Olivia Adobe golf course. We’ll be there.
Come check us out if you’re in the area. That’s one of our hits. I would say. Menudo is for a cold day, so it is wintertime. Stay positive. Yeah. So don’t listen to anybody, guys, not even me. If you guys you know, we could give you guys advice, but you gotta go from the heart and you gotta go you gotta go with what you’re feeling. Not what anybody else is feeling. I don’t care if anybody tells you, you know, you’re not gonna make it. Hey, don’t listen to them! Even if you guys are struggling at the beginning, it doesn’t matter.
As long as you keep a positive mind and positive attitude, you’re gonna get through the storm. We’re going through it right now, we’re barely getting known, you know, it’s gonna take time, but you gotta keep your head up and you gotta keep going, because most people wanna see you fail. You gotta keep going!”
